About Jacorre Studios
Where did the name Jacorre come from?
When I decided to buy my first domain name and create my first website, I wanted a unique name. At that time, I was working on writing songs and making music. So I was brainstorming for a good music artist name. I was thinking of using my own name, but then decided to combine my first and last name and Jacorre was born! Oh and just for the record, if you really wanted to know, my real name is Joshua!
How did this website first begin?
When I first got introduced to the world wide web, I was using America Online (AOL). There was an option where I could create my very own website through AOL for free. I thought hey this is cool and decided to give it a try. Frustrated that I could only pick from certain colors and was limited on the type of information I could put on the page, I decided to learn how to create my own website. The rest is history!
Has the purpose of this website changed over time?
At first, the website was meant to advertise myself as a music artist. After learning more about web design, I started to pick up some freelance work on the side. So I added my portfolio to the mix. The site grew into more of a personal portfolio at that point. I continued to expand my skills in web design and coding. I also created new songs and released some cds. The site was growing a bit too big at that point and I needed to differentiate between my design work and my music. That’s when I split the site and created both the Design Studio and Sound Studio.
